ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Primetime
Primetime was born July 22, 1994 in the Southeast region of the Nation's Capital. He's always had an affinity for writing since he was younger. In his middle/high school days at parent teacher conferences his teachers always told his mother how great of a writer he was and if he ever thought about doing poetry. At age 13 Primetime started rapping, but didn't take it seriously until his junior year of high school. Before he was Primetime, his stage name was "Big Dog". He finally realized that his name wasn't as appealing as other rappers. 12th grade was when he changed his name to Primetime, reason being is because of the rootword "Prime". When someone is in their prime, those are their best years. Primetime feel as though his whole career will be his best years, so the name just stuck with him. A lot of artists make music because they believe it's easier to get money recording then to fill out an application and wait for a job to call. But Primetime is different, he raps because it's his passion, but most importantly to move his mother out of the hood.
