Promoter Spotlight: Adding Influence
I go by Adding Influence. I'm a promoter in the DMV area and my sole purpose in everything I do is to help bring light to my area.
I started out doing camera work to help local artists make it, showing up to random open mics taking photos and videos of them. I soon realized doing shows was a more efficient way to help them. So I began doing shows on my own, booking and throwing them, as well as hosting and continuing to do the camera work. I wanted to help these up and coming artists increase their fan base as well as create a postivie outlet for the community.
I've done over 50 shows featuring over 200 local artists, raised over $600 for charity through my shows for the Capitol Area Food Bank as well as bags of clothing for Thrive DC. I've done poetry/ live art for auction shows where I've raised nearly $2,000 for physically and abused children through a movement called #SantaCause via SafeShores.org.
I've worked closely with another non profit as well called Will Rap 4 Food where we use music as a way to pull people together and do things such as coat drives, can food drives and making sandwhices for the homeless quarterly.
I am also a connector. I network as much as I can so I can connect anyone doing something in the DMV whether it be photographers, videographers, models, actors, actresses, directors, writers, producers, singers, rappers, poets, deejays, artists, painters, philanthropists, online radio personalities and small businesses owners.
I recently put together a mixtape DJ Khaled style featuring over 30 artists from the DMV, representing DC, PG County, Mo County, Baltimore and Virginia. Generes including Hip-Hop, trap rap, r&b, GoGo, reggae, rock and pop, hosted by Mr. Peter Parker. I'm writing this email to request information on how I can get help from you guys to promote this project. It's completely free, I'm not profiting from this other than the knowledge that I'm helping these artists be heard.
