ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Natasha Holt
Born on August 10,1989 Natasha Holt better known for her stage name (Star Davinci), was born in Southeast, DC but raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Where she grew up in a single parent household with her mom, sister, and two brothers.
Growing up with just a mother Natasha didn’t have much as she would move from house to house because money was tight. At the age of 8 watching Missy Elliot “The Rain” video it wasn’t until then she realized she wanted to be an Entertainer. So, from that point on she begins to write songs about her life situations and things that inspired her as an artist. Her influences in the music world include artist like Missy Elliot, Foxy Brown, Hot Boys, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Biggie, 2Pac, & ACDC just to name a few. In 8th Grade Natasha’s mother became ill, unable to provide for her child she had to move in with her Aunt who later took care of her. Rapping and writing rhymes in school Natasha managed to graduate from High School in 2007.
To pay for studio time and to get by, she worked as a waitress to pursue her music career. At 23 her first performance ever was at Howard’s homecoming where the crowd grew to respect Star Davinci as an artist which gave her the push and drive to pursue her dreams even more. Now getting ready to release her first mixtape “WHO IS STAR DAVINCI” (Late Summer 2013), I have a feeling the world is pretty soon going to know who this talented young women is and what she represent.
