NEW EP ALERT: Reggie "TIMING"

R&B newcomer, Reggie, released his Debut LP “Timing” today to Soundcloud, Apple Music, and all other major music streaming outlets. Bursting with powerful vocals, substantial lyrics, and stripped-back production, the crooner’s debut makes him surely one to watch.

“Timing” is most impressive for its effortless blend of genre’s and its homages to legendary artist like Marvin Gaye, Bon Jovi, and Prince. The 10-song project opens with the somber-reflective title track “Timing: A Dream Deferred, which was inspired by Langston Hughes’ poem, “A Dream Deferred,” as depicted in the Lorraine Hansburys’ stage-play, “A Raisin in the Sun. Songs like “Too Damn Long” and “All My X’s”, finds the singer attempting to throw his bid in for mainstream success, but it is on open-hearted tunes such as “Love & Other Drugs, and “Lonewolf”, which features an interpolation of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer”, that establishes the singer’s credibility as a songwriter and as one of 2017 most impressive and interesting newcomers.

With a heavy influence from 90s R&B singers Ginuwine, Tank, Brandy, and Avant, “Timing” is filled with seductive grooves and intricate melodies that linger throughout the entire set and makes the project stand out when compared to the moody, trap-infused R&B that has been dominating airwaves lately.

“Timing” was recorded late last year after Reggie moved to Los Angeles from Philadelphia. Earlier this year, Reggie released the project's first single “Too Damn Long”, which helped the crooner garner some buzz. His latest single, “Sing No More” was produced by Roy Woods and has received over 15,000 plays on Soundcloud.
