Meet The Men behind DMV's Media World!


The DMV Culture is a cluster of all things Music, Fashion, Food, Art, Entertainment & Media. Media has geared the picture of how many stories are to be told in our area and showcases the greatness or lack there of, here in our area. Media has grown to be an arena the fosters so many outlets catered to spreading a message. Independent Media, has been the newest landmark in the world of TV & Radio, giving platforms a voice to share their output; sites like Baller Alert, The Shade Room, The Neighborhood Talk have all been in the forefront of showcasing what Independent Media is and what is does.

Here in the DMV, Independent Media has really flourished in projecting all avenues of Entertainment, just like The Neighborhood Talk, which was created by a DMV native, many sites and platforms have taken over the DMV landscape and are creating voices that help share extraordinary talent and businesses that help the DMV Culture move forward. In a world of so much separation, these talented 8 Media Platforms came together to show the look on unity in the Media World and shred light on the top platforms anchoring the message throughout the area and capturing the essence of all platforms being run by African American Men.

In a world where African American Men are displayed as unjust and lack there of, we create the standard of what Kings look like and how important our voices our to give light to those who otherwise do not have one. Today we create the narrative and Celebrate being the Men of DMV Media and our role in continuing the greatness of our area and being the narrators of such great stories our community has to offer.


Meet each platform!

The DMV Daily Abu Sillah is a Journalist & Publicist from Prince George's County, MD. He is the CEO of The DMV Daily and Marketing Manager of The Wig Café, LLC. In May 2018, Abu obtained his B.A. in Sociology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and is now attending Bowie State University for his M.A. in Organizational Communications. Outside of the world and media, Abu is also the 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher for Prince George's County Public Schools. As Abu continues to grow and expand his knowledge and business, he also strives to help and uplifts everyone around him.


Jukebox DC JUKEBOXDC is based in Washington DC and was founded in June of 2010 by college friends Jamoris Vincent and M. Jon Powell. Since their launch they have done interviews with many notable artists, such as Cyhi The Prynce, Noreaga, GLC, Big K.R.I.T., Freeway, Wale, Raekwon, 9th Wonder, Thee Tom Hardy, Amanda Diva, Kingpen Slim, Phil Ade, Black Cobain, Fat Trel, Miguel, Que (formerly of Day 26), Audra The Rapper, Emanny, Teedra Moses, Malice (of the Clipse), Rye Rye, Donell Jones, Al Lindstrom, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Miguel, A$AP Rocky, Jon Connor and Mark Henry. They also partnered with Tony Lewis, Jr. to make a documentary, Son of Life, which received Best Breakthrough Film Award at the 2011 DMV International Film Festival Awards.

Big Mouf Media Big Mouf Media is a media platform covering Music, Entertainment & Viral News. Big Mouf Media was founded by Darryn Brown @bigmoufdarryn in 2018 in North Carolina. Big Mouf Media grew a buzz after interviewing Da Baby, Stunna 4 Vegas, Toosii and more before they blew up. The platform moved to the DMV in 2019 and quickly started gaining buzz in the area after interviewing Walk Down Will, Big Flock, Rolling Ray, Journi Love, Killa Kiesha, Young E Class & More!! Perry Paper T.v, Mel Major and J Ram completes the team at Big Mouf Media. Big Mouf Media is growing daily and is looking forward to being a World Wide Platform.


MoBoomBox MOBoombox was founded in 2014 by Abel Girma, Wayne Mclean and James Spears at Old Dominion University. The platform was created with the objective of creating a platform for emerging talents to showcase their craft while promoting and endorsing quality entertainment. Based in the DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia) area, we hosted several events like our RnArt series where we feature rising talents from the art and music industry. We host events so the viewers cannot only read about new talents but see them perform live to get an overall vibe of what they bring to the culture. Although events are an essential component of our platform the main content focus are media campaigns with talents in the urban entertainment community. Our media campaigns consist of interviews, podcasts, commercials and write ups. MOBoombox not only provides talent with promotion but we also provide branding and advertising services. We pride ourselves on changing the way people view media. It is essential for us to be at the forefront for breaking talent & giving our audience a platform they can trust. By exploring our platform, you will get a little taste of what the entertainment world is and is becoming.

The Posh Standard Media Group, LLC; pledges to be the voice and has made a commitment to invoking a change. Using a fashionable approach; TPSMG uses media, events, and multiple platforms to provide a new standard of business and self promotion. Let your presence reflect excellence.


The Washington Informer Bridge THE BRIDGE is a newspaper and cultural information piece for Black Millennials in Washington, DC. The mission is to bring the youth and creative culture forward so that all are included and represented in DC’s changing landscape. They are a production and research center, where they assess and contribute to contemporary culture. Their findings are published digitally and as a collectible manual for freedom, research, and creativity, printed monthly. Founded in Washington DC in 2016, THE BRIDGE is edited by and art directed by Lafayette Barnes. THE BRIDGE platform is designed and engineered by CAANDORLABS in collaboration with BAKARI IBRAHIM & MOSS BELKASSAM. THE BRIDGE is headquartered in Southeast DC on MLK Avenue.

The Media Prince The Media Prince is an International Entertainment Journalist and Media Specialist. Internationally known for his work in showcasing the dopest, most creative work from all areas of art: from fashion, music, politics, athletics, Disk Jockeys, painters, poets, you name it, if there is an art to it, then The Media Prince will cover it. With a degree in Journalism, PR & Marketing and a Minor in Music, The Media Prince holds the bar high in showcasing innovative works that go from Celebrity clientele to Up and coming. Credited with endless writing pieces, his work stems from TMZ, BET, The Washington Post, HBCU Buzz, Pride Magazine, Blank Canvas Magazine, WKYS 93.9 FM & The UrbanInformer, while Interviewing some of the biggest Celebrities out, from Lonnie Love (The Real Daytime Talk Show), Megan Thee Stallion (Recording Artist), Angela Simmons (Fashion Designer & Star of Growing Up Hip Hop), 50 Cent (Recording Artist & Actor) and Taraji P Henson (Actress & Philanthropist). Currently known in over 25 countries, The Media Prince is dedicated to promoting the arts and shedding light on the amazing talents this world has to offer.

Music On The Dot Kris is the founder of Music On The Dot a DMV-based music platform intended to shine a light on rising acts in the DMV and beyond. Kris started the blog in high school originally as a hobby, before it began to gain traction. Since its founding in 2013, the media personality has interviewed artists such as YNW Melly, Money Man, 42 Dugg, and more. It has also helped artists gain a buzz in the DMV and beyond, leading to a few signing record deals. When he’s not running his music platform, Kris co-manages rising DMV artists Inkay2x and O’Mai.
